The Integrative Therapy Center

The Integrative Therapy Center (ITC) provides direct services and programs as well as community collaboration and consultation. Our services draw on the power of the arts for expression, collaboration and transformation.

Classes and workshops for the public are offered throughout the year as well as expressive arts education and therapy for people who wish to incorporate embodied creativity through the arts into their personal lives or professional practices.

ABOUT US

Founded in 2011, the ITC is dedicated to improving the quality of life and well-being of individuals and communities. Our goal is to empower individuals and communities through embodied engagement in the arts. We develop and provide direct arts-based services as well as assist organizations by providing a needed service to their clients and members.

We celebrate the important role of the arts in healing and wellness, and acknowledge the body as an essential aspect of moving towards well-being and integration. Our methods emphasize the importance of relationships and creativity in personal and collective growth and healing.

Our facilitators provide dynamic, embodied experiences that foster the discovery of inner sources of strength through the creative process. We nurture a safe and friendly environment for engaging in this process, honouring individual abilities, potential and strengths.

ITC is comprised of professional artists with expertise in community development and trained Masters-level psychotherapists with individual therapeutic practices incorporating the arts in treatment.

SERVICES

ITC offers an expressive arts approach that integrates movement/dance, visual arts, writing, and body awareness techniques. This embodied, creative approach supports personal, interpersonal and social/community transformation.

COMMUNITY COLLABORATION AND CONSULTATION

As part of our mission, ITC seeks to develop partnerships and collaboration with other community and social service agencies. We assist organizations in providing expressive arts programming to their clients or members. Through consultation and collaboration, we develop programs that incorporate the expressive arts in service delivery. Organizations are encouraged to access our expertise and services -- both direct delivery or consultation services are offered - in providing integrative arts options to their service users.

Recent example of successful collaboration:
A partnership with Addiction Services of Thames Valley enabled the inclusion of an expressive arts group intervention in the services offered to clients experiencing substance abuse challenges.

COUNSELLING\PSYCHOTHERAPY

We offer individual, family and group counselling and psychotherapy that is holistic, individualized and strengths-based. Body-centered practices and expressive arts are offered as options in counselling. These are unique and effective approaches that enhance self-expression, communication and healing. No artistic experience is necessary -- only a curiosity about how expressing yourself creatively may enrich your well-being and bring vitality to your life.
