Dorit Osher, M.A, MSW, RSW
Dorit is an experienced psychotherapist, dance artist, facilitator
in embodied mindfulness, somatic practices, and expressive
arts and movement, She seeks to support people in finding greater freedom,
creativity, compassion, empowerment and aliveness in their lives.
Dorit specialize in eating disorders. Her focus as a therapist is
not about symptom interruption of gaining weight and stopping all eating
disordered behaviours, but about long-term recovery. She provides guidance
and support in making behavioural changes and developing alternative coping
strategies that allow for emotional tolerance of difficult feelings, finding
ways of being present in one’s body with acceptance, and also learning to feel. Dorit
is an instructor at Fleming College, Haliburton where she teaches in the
Expressive Arts Therapy Certification program. Dorit is the founder of
ITC.
Dorit believes the world needs people who are more conscious to their sensed, awakened selves and find states of health, inspiration, passion and happiness both physically and emotionally. When we are all more present to our direct experiences, in the here and now, we are more present to one another and listen more attentively and connect more deeply.
“Through the Thou a person becomes I." Martin Buber
